Additional Comments:
I found this horse on Sunday, July 10th, 2011 wandering down my street in a residential area in Littlerock. He was severely emaciated and not well cared for so I have been feeding him up and caring for him for the past two weeks.
He is a very sweet horse. The vet came and did an exam and gave him a six way vaccine. She said he is likely over 20 years old. I also had the farrier come out and do his hooves. He said this horse was a mess and his feet were really overgrown and uneven. I also just de-wormed him. So in time he will fill out again and become a nice looking horse.
Both the vet and farrier said he was an American Saddlebred. He is a black gelding, and like I said very friendly, listen well, gentle, picks up his feet, and seems to enjoy the company of my own animals - dogs, a barn cat, goats, and chickens.
Since I've had this horse for two weeks and have not located the owners via the MANY fliers I have posted in my area and at the Lancaster animal shelter, he is now available for adoption. He is free to a good home that can provide the proper enclosure for a horse - and that can be verified.
He may be a tad older but certainly has a lot of love to give and he deserves a good life!
In order to adopt this horse you must come and meet him. You must have a facility with shade and a secured fenced area for a horse.
You would have to agree that if you can no longer care for this boy you must return him to me as I would never want to see harm come to this beautiful creature or see him end up in the shelter system.
Please feel free to call me or e-mail me for more info!
Thanks for considering this awesome horse!!!
